Diabolical Hands

That's what I always think when he does this...but in the same breath I'll also say, "Oh how cute, my little angel." What can I say? I like to be contrary. Anyway, Ryan does this with his hands all the time; however, it's very hard to get a picture of because 1. he does it while he nurses and when I take him off to take a picture he immediately spreads his hands out and 2. the red eye light on the camera makes him fling his arm out as well so we cat get a picture that way either.

I snuck this one in so at at least we have some photographic proof.

I will not lie...Chio has seriously been a huge help. In fact my husband asked alex to come in and give the baby his pacifier and Chio jumped up to do it (since alex is sooo not going in there to do that) and then my husband makes me come in to get a play by play of exactly what Chio did and how well she did it. She is completely confident in the things I allow her to help with and she doesn't try to do things shes not suppose to (such as pick the baby up...which alex frequently tries to do). While this is awesome, it's also bad because I'm an irresponsible parent. I will get up to go and do something is a different room and realize that I just left a four year old to watch my newborn. Hel-lo. The funny thing is I don't ever do that with alex, not that he would want me to. His favorite thing to do with the baby is to get his picture taken with him. Here are some videos of Chio and Ryan.

Here is the first one, which was followed by a short diaper changing interlude.

Rocio and Ryan

And this is the last one, the one I can't get to load is Chio explaining that she wants to go by Rocio Amelie Chio....You'll have to ask her about it when next you see her:)

Football training

Alex will frequently invent games for the kids to do (usually right before bed, darn him) and they think it's the best thing in the world. In this game the defender starts out by Alex and they have to tackle the receiver before the receiver can get the ball back to Alex. I have to admit I love watching my handsome husband play with my kids, one of my favorite things in the world.

A good picture

As I am posting these pictures I realized something funny. I took these food pictures at alex and chio's request and as I was doing it I thought, how did they even think of this and why do they think it's so funny? Fast forwdard to later that night and this is the picture that I took... Hello, which one is worse? Staking toys on a baby or stacking babies? lol. I should be ashamed of myself but I'm not and I guess my kids come about it naturally:)

First Bath

Well....the first sponge bath at home I should say. The kids were very excited to help, and I am very excited that babies are somewhat resilient so they can withstand the attentions of their older siblings. I must say this seemed like a huge deal with alex, but really all I can say is we got him clean, we didn't get peed on, and he is supper cute:)

And he is super cute too.

Ryan's umbilical cord stayed on forever it seemed like. Everyday we would wake up and change his diaper and be like, "hey, it looks like today is the day it will come off." No, it never did; until we got to the point where we were considering pulling it off because it was just hanging on by a tread, but the books are very specific about that point and I couldn't bring myself to do it. Then on his blessing day my mother was changing his diaper and it finally fell off... we won't investigate that too closely right mom? lol. So now he has had several real bath's which I have not taken a single picture of, poor third child...at least we won't have a lot of ammo to embarrass you with when you are dating.

Grandpa Max and his balancing show

So I guess I should be glad he wasn't trying to make Ryan stand...actually he probably tried that first and then resorted to this.... huh, dad?
