Xela Bug...

So, it has been unusually cold here the last couple of days, in fact the day we were supposed to bring her home from the hospital, if there had been nothing wrong with my blood pressure, it was a high of 43.  On the day we ended up coming home it was a high of 63...we consider this cold.  Anyways because it was cold we ended up getting out this outfit and so we had to take pictures of course.
Enjoy our love bug.

My beautiful mother and baby

My mom came out about a month ago to play before I had my baby and another plus was that if Teda went into labor she would be closer to her, too.  It's been so wonderful having her here and watching her with my kids. When we would go out and I was walking (waddling) behind Chio and my mom in a store they both have their long curly hair bouncing- no one asks where Chio gets it from:) They have the same ringlets just in different color.

I always seem to think of my grandma Norma before I have a baby but it's been more pronounced this time; I think because my mom does with my kids things I remember doing and saying with my grandma.  They also seem to talk about similar things.  You are such a wonderful example mom, thank you so much for being here with us.  I saw somewhere this and I think it exactly applies to you.  The only thing better than having you for a mother is my kids having you for a grandmother.

First time meeting Xela

The kids all really liked the baby.  Including Ryan, which I was worried about.

Alex was able to bring Xela in before the bath.  Because she was c-section she was REALLY blue (we're talking smurf here) we didn't take any pictures of that but you can still see a little bit of what that was like on her hands.

Grandma Karen has been here to help with the kids and be here when the baby was born which we ended up needing more than we thought (Ryan now LOVES to snuggle with grandma and he is the best snuggler)  Thanks dad for letting us steal her!  And thank you mom for coming, I love you.

Ryan always wants to point at her.

Here is the hair shot.  She has hair!

I look amazing I know!  alex today at dinner asked if I was having another baby because my belly was so big:)  I showed a lot at the end of pregnancy this time so that was pretty cool.

All of us.

Chio looks like she is going to end up being a great big helper again.

Mom, while you're up...

So, the other day while I was sitting on the couch with Chio and Ryan watching a movie, I got up to get some water from the kitchen. As I was walking out of the room Chio said, "Mom, while you're up could you make me some brownies?" I started laughing so hard. later that day she did help me make some brownies:)

Alex made dinner

Today Alex made dinner all by himself. He's been talking and planning it all week. And after a huge success he announced that he was going to make dinner every night because everyone likes HIS food a lot and sometimes other dinners we have aren't so good. (I wonder if he was hinting at anyone at the table lol).

He's learning to follow a recipe too so he was the one that got all the stuff out and was extremely disappointed that "soda" turned out to be baking soda. "Next time we should try it with real soda since that's what the recipe says mom" he says. If this continues I'm foreseeing a lot of complications in my recipe interpretation because I'm a horrid speller and just have general directions. I did not foresee this problem when I wrote them.

It was awesome! He's getting so big I can't believe it sometimes.

Chio had kitchen this week and she was not that impressed with Alex's efforts so maybe I need to plan that a little better; there was quite a mess and I ended up doing it for her poor girl.
