alex has almost turned five (but we already had his party).

He had a "How to Train Your Dragon Movie Party" last weekend.
I think this one was better in the thinking than the doing.
Behold 20 kids-in our house. We always have siblings come to our birthday parties and this one was no different. alex invited 7 friends and all of the came( but we were only expecting about half to be able to come). It was so crazy- everyone probably thought we were nuts. I had a blast and thought it turned out great but there really wasn't that much movie watching going on. alex said "that was the best birthday in ten infinity universe" and "can we do that again on my real birthday?" (NO!).
NOTE: this year we emphasized that this was his PARTY not his actually "birthday" because last year we had his Birthday (celebrated in our family with a special breakfast, dinner, play-day etc.) and then his PARTY four days later so he thought he turned 4 then 5 in one week and it took awhile for us to straighten it out.

We came straight from a soccer game to the party.

Some of the kids watched the movie.

Some did How to Train Your Dragon crafts, and some played in the bedrooms.
(What really happened was everyone ran around all crazy then we went outside for cake)

Such a cool cake!! And Congratulations on blogging again. We've missed you.
I can't believe alex is already almost 5! That is crazy!
Happy Almost Birthday alex!
you have such creative parties! we LOVE "How to Train Your Dragon!"
The cake looked great, even if it wasn't fire engine red.
Sometimes the wanting is bigger than what we get, but we all learn that way.
Love Dad
