Chio Pictures

These are not the actual Halloween pictures just the ones of chio that something went wrong with on the last post. AND if you would like to see the Halloween pictures I need you to email me so that I can send them to you personally because I took them all with my friends children forgetting that she doesn't post pictures of her children on the internet. Sarah, I'm getting to sending them to you I just haven't had time to load them yet!

Preliminary Halloween Post

I'm hoping that when I enlist the help of my husband you will get better pictures of our Halloween...perhaps even a ferocious lion roaring.

And here are pictures of what I took Chio out shopping with me in- for Halloween she is actually a chili.

Birthday boy

This is alex opening his present. And this is a link to last years birthday festivities; the funny thing is alex watched it and got really mad because some other kid was playing with his train.

Birthday Cake

Not going to bed

Here is a night when alex was still hurt with his eye and I was more lax with bed time. His "cage" is his dresser and to get to this point in the game all of his clothes have to be removed from his dresser and thrown across his room (the throwing is extremely necessary-if any are left folded then you have to take care of that immediately). Then you can enter your cage and push it all around the house while saying "ROAR" and making claws with your hands, I wish you were here to play!

Here I told alex to get ready for bed and he crawled up by Chio and pretended to be sleeping there by her.

Fruit Cake

alex's birthday cake

As this cake was just for our family when I was finally able to have some alone time at 11 at night I decided that I would just do a quick frosting job before I went to bed because we would be the only ones that would see it and that way it would be done for today. At 11 I had only the cake cooling on the counter and that was it (no frosting made, not even any ingredients out)- at 11:32 I was done and heading to my bed; I, for one, and extremely impressed with myself.

The theme for the cake is based on alex's love of fruit snacks so hopefully he will like it. In our ward alex is infamous when comes to his fruit snack obsession. We only give them on specially occasions and as bribery; in nursery they let him have as many bags as he wants(he takes full advantage of this situation) and then if the other kids leave them on their plate he will go and eat theirs as well. All the parents of the nursery kids seem to know and then it has somehow spread form there so I will have people I don't even know come up and talk to me about it. I guess it could be worse....he could be known as the biter.

Here is little Chio who is now at a whopping 9lbs 8 oz (as of Monday).

Shiner

The first night.

The next morning.

As Alex was walking out of the living room, alex started running after him (they were putting clothes away) and alex tripped right as Alex's foot was coming up; they hit eye to heel. Just looking at it makes me want to cry. The rest of the night Alex kept saying, "Man, my foot hurts." Poor alex, we even put ice on it and it still swelled that much; he would only keep the ice on while I was giving him fruit snacks and as soon as they ran out he was done....so we didn't keep the ice on quite as long as I would have liked.

note: The pictures aren't loading, so I'll post them when I can.

And here is a picture of what Chio looks like today.

Why my husband is on the couch tonight......

So I go in to go to bed and Alex calls me and says, "Can you come change her diaper." So I go walking into the living room; Rocio is crying and Alex is burping the baby on his shoulder, then he leans her off his shoulder and.... he throws me the baby. Yes, he throws me the baby, my heart starts to beat a mile a minuet..... and I don't catch her and she falls to the floor. Luckily it's alex's baby doll that he had thrown.

We toss our children when they are pretty young which is why this plan of his works so well. He had put the real crying baby on the chair, got alex's baby (who was even wearing the same clothes that Chio had on) and called me in.

note: even though Alex is a jerk and should be sleeping on the couch, he won't really be; he's on the couch right now because there is some baseball game on and I'm in here typing this because now my adrenalin is so high I can't go to bed.

Stay tuned to the blog because alex got a shiner that I'm going to post the picture and story about hopefully tomorrow.

alex's roomate

My mother came to help when the baby was born and she left last week, but I haven't had time to write this before today. I was soooooo glad to have her here, and even though I loved having her here and wished that she could have stayed longer, I didn't ask her to so everyone that bet she would stay until Iwalani came home lost....sorry. One of the most obvious areas that we see her absence is in the food department; she would make TONS of really good food everyday and make sure that we would eat it and we all really miss that. alex became good friends with grandma while was here because whenever he wanted her to she would take him out and then some because they would go shopping almost everyday it seemed like. Among other things, grandma taught alex how to snore which is now included in his favorite game "night".

Thank you so much for coming mom. I love you and miss you a ton!

Burping the Baby

Pumpkin Festival

You all probably recognize this place....it's the arboretum yet again. I love it here and we had such a wonderful peaceful time. This is the pumpkin festival, we will probably only be able to go one more time before our membership expires.

Little Chio

Here's what's happened/happening....
  • The afternoon of the 22nd of September I took everything out for the baby and washed it
  • Before I put everything away I got tired and took a nap (my house had baby stuff everywhere in piles)
  • I woke up (later then I had wanted), got alex and I dressed for the party, and wrote a grocery list to get after the party of food and baby supplies that we needed
  • My water broke at alex's friend Andrea's birthday party at a park right across the street from the hospital
  • After walking to the hospital (to go pee) and walking back to the park and not being able to "hold it" I decided that I should go and get checked out to see if, in fact, my water had broken
  • Alex was at work so I called him to come and went to the hospital, where they made me stay in bed and laughed at me when I had Alex ask if I could walk around
  • She was born on Sunday, September 23 at 12:24
  • She weighed 6lbs. 5ozs and was 19 1/2 inches long
  • So far, blue eyes and blond hair (yes, I am white so my children will be too, sorry)
  • On Thursday, October 4th she weighed 6lbs. 12oz. and was 20 1/2 inches long
  • The doctor said that she is very strong and beautiful
  • She has a yeast infection that we are still trying to get over
  • She nurses (snacks) whenever she wants and has no recognizable schedule
  • As soon as she latches on she usually falls asleep
  • alex loves to hold her and lick her hair (I have no idea)
  • Her umbilical cord fell off on Sunday, October 7th
  • She had her first bath on Monday, October 8th
  • As long as we all feel like it we go out on adventures and just come home when we are tired
  • Currently, she is sleeping
Here is Chio on the quilt that Grandma Karen made with Chio's hair all messed up. Whenever Grandma Karen holds Chio she comes back to me with her hair all messed up. I'm starting to think that maybe my dad always has his hair messed up because of my mom, not because he never combs it.

Here's the Plan

My mother is still here (this is her last day and I'm so sad) and we decided that we wanted to go and see the Harry Potter movie which both of had not yet seen. This is NOT a movie that I want my 2 year old to see, so we came up with a plan. We were going to take alex to three different parks over the course of three hours, then we were going to come home, eat dinner, take a bath and get in the car and drive around until he fell asleep and then we were going to go to the movie and have him sleep through it.

Here is the Reality

We are just putting Chio into her car seat and she poops-a lot. So I take her to change her... during the process she pees... that fountain gets the new diaper wet but not her clothes...I get the new diaper and she pees again this time her clothes get wet along with the new diaper. (I am normally a pretty fast diaper changer but Chio has a yeast infection so it takes a while to get the medicine on because of this she frequently pees during diaper changing.) By this time she is starving (or so she thinks) so I feed her again without her clothes on, only a diaper. During this feeding she poops again. First I burp her and she pukes all over my clothes. Then I change her diaper and get her in new clothes.... and she is hungry again so I feed her, during which she poops yet again. At this time alex walks over and hits her hard in the head, the first of most likely many times, so then he has to get punished and we change Chio one more time and finally we get in the car to go.

We get to the first park and it is hot (not from the temp., somewhere in the 80's, but from the humidity). We think, "hey, this will wear him out more and we have water to stay hydrated" so we stay; the little boys that were there helped us make our decision because alex is desperate for playmates. So we get all sweaty and a great breeze comes in which mixes wonderfully with the sweat (disgusting but true) and we feel great. Then the breeze gets stronger and the clouds start to come in and it gets dark. It starts to pour huge heavy drops and we run to the car. The sky is already starting to lighten up so we head to the next park where we have to take a potty break (alex really likes this potty for some reason so when ever we come here he has to go regardless if he has to or not). My mother takes him to the potty because she has to go as well and by the time they get back the rain has started again so we just go home. We clean up a little and play and when we finally have dinner alex is almost falling out of his chair because he is so tired; apparently the excitement of not playing can be just as tiring as playing.

I still missed the end of the movie because in the middle of the movie alex woke up and needed to go potty so I took him and he said, "daddy, where's daddy? daddy?" so instead of putting him back to sleep (maybe) I took him home to see his dad who he hadn't seen all day (I didn't want him to see the end of the movie anyway). He saw his dad long enough to ask for some milk and then went to bed again. All in all we had a really nice day. Especially how it ended - the Cowboy game- did anyone watch it? I think that it was the best game I've ever seen (except for I feel really bad for the Bills) I wasn't able to go to sleep for I think an hour after it ended because my adrenalin was so high.

Pacifier

I think that I know why second children take a pacifier so well, because the older child sits there and holds it in their mouth if they want it or not....and here is that happening in our house.

Playing with toys

alex wasted no time in getting the toys for Rocio, but I think that he was kind of disappointed that she didn't like them as much as he thought that she should.

Our happy family

Rocio and I were supposed to be relaxing in bed then Alex and alex decided that they would come in and help. You can still see her smiles though.

Rocio Amelie

She is a wonderful baby, and we love her!
These are pictures from our first photo shoot, which could have gone better. alex didn't really want to get his picture taken; actually what he wanted to do was take the pictures using grandma Karen's camera so the whole event ended in tears and a runny nose- what bliss.

Sleeping.

I don't know if alex is saying, "stay away from my sister or I'll get you." or "Now is my chance to pay her back."

These are susposed to be the other direction.

Rocio saying, "why am I not eating?"

A nice shot of her butt in the air and all her pretty hair.

I love this picture because it looks like alex is saying "oh, you are so cute and I love you so much, and I'll never let anything happen to you!" and Rocio is saying, "Ahhhhhhh, save me, how could you leave me with this kid?"

alex making sure that Rocio is okay.

And at the end.

Baseball

While I was gone tonight the boys stayed home and watched baseball (boring) among other things- like trashing the house. However, they were inspired to get out the tee and play some ball themselves. I'm pretty sure that as our son grows we are going to regret our extremely liberal attitude toward playing ball in the house but it sure is fun now. Also, I assume that the next post that I put up is going to be about soccer if I keep up on the pattern (football, basketball, baseball), but who knows, maybe I'll have this baby and you can see a picture of her instead.

Poor Bobby

If boys didn't have dads how would they learn stuff like this? The best part about this video is listening to my husband laugh every time that he sees it. Apparently this is the first time that alex runs up and kicks Bobby before he was just tackling him but it has the same end effect.

This is just a regular tackle.

Plum Jam....

Have you ever noticed that as soon as nature calls so do your kids? So we have been at the stage for a while now where alex just has to wait outside until I'm done- BUT he was hungry NOW so he took care of it himself. You are actually looking at the aftermath because he was putting the lid back on to put it back in the fridge by the time that I found the camera.

Do you think that alex likes my mothers plum jam? She brought four bottles of jam over Labor Day weekend and we (meaning mostly alex) have already gone through two bottles now (actually there is about an inch of jam left in the second jar-but there is always tomorrow).

Basketball Stud

Alex has been working with alex on his basketball skills and this is the result, he'll be ready any day to fulfill his dream to go play with the big kids at church, don't you think.

The Good, The Bad, And The.....ME!

Just Kidding, although sometimes it does feel true.

Because I haven't written anything in approximately one month I guess that everything that I can remember to talk about will be new to you...I guess that I will start with the latest news and work backwards.

alex fixed the computer desk for me. He has to go and get the screw driver out from under the sink and out of its box to accomplish this. Yikes.

We've been looking into some body art-what do you think?

alex said his first real sentence. He kept trying to tell me something and I would tell him that he had to use his words and he would just say lightning; after frustratingly asking for lightning 15 times and being handed his lightning bubble bath 15 times he finally gave in and said, "I want to watch lightning please". I was so thrilled he got to go and sit down and watch lightning for a little bit after his bath even though it was time for bed.

Last week we went camping to finally try out our new tent (which we loved). Unfortunately, I only took one picture and it wasn't even a very good one.

We went swimming in a lake which is a new camping experience for me because when I was growing up we didn't go camping by lakes-or really ever even see lakes. We remembered to bring marshmallows to roast and alex loved the flashlights, and his glow stick, and the fire, and being able to get dirty, and the tent, and the bugs (as long as they didn't touch him) ,and the other little kids we saw, and most especially chasing the ducks around-which were more tolerant than the ducks at our pound of little boys trying to catch them and force them to eat bread. Basically alex loves camping. My favorite part was when on one of our "hikes" Alex found some kind of barracks; one of them was open and inside there was a ping-pong table with some balls and paddles-and air conditioning. alex thought it was really fun to go and pick up all the stray balls and get them to stay on the table so we didn't even have to bend over to pick up the balls-it was the best game ever.

My parents and sister came to visit and I didn't get to take a single picture-sorry guys. I know that my mother has some though so I hope that she will post them so that I can get some pictures of the weekend. hint. hint. We had a great time, thanks so much for coming. Alex said that he thought that was your best visit ever and I think that after every time that you come.

Football season has started but Eli Manning is hurt so I don't want to talk about it.

A couple of weeks ago we were planning on going to Lake Texoma so that Alex and alex could go swimming and I would just sit on the beach and watch, but when we got there we found out that because of the rain there hasn't been swimming in the lake all year. We had a picnic and went on a walk instead. On the walk we saw some deer, I hope that you can see them. One of them actually ran right across the path in front of us right after I had just asked Alex if there was anything that could hurt us in the wood we started to hear something rustling in the bushes and then the deer sprinted across the path. I thought that I was going to pee my pants-not that that would have been anything new of late.

And lastly even though I know that this isn't a very good movie google has added a new feature that I want to try out so you get to see Alex and alex looking at a puddle and me talking in the background.

Two things that don't mix....

When you are not watching what your child is doing two things that you don't want to hear are .....

Flush,
Bye Bye.

Hopefully it wasn't too important, or too big!

AND I hope that you are having a good day.

A Manly Man

One of my favorite things to do is to sit on my bed and watch the screen saver slide show of all of our pictures-then it's like you are closer. As I was just doing this I realized that there were some pictures that I have wanted to post and forgot about.

So no ones pride is hurt, no time frame for how long this took to grow is going to be mentioned....none.

In the same spirit also look at Alex's blog.
