Us

What is going on with us?

alex- he insists on tasting the chicken bullion cubes every time that he sees its container and every time I let him try he sticks his toung out and tries to get all the flavor off by clawing at it and then drinks like a gallon of water-how many times will it take until he remembers that he doesn't like it? Now that our adventures are undertaken with shorts and a short sleeves he is getting all kinds of cuts and bruises; it is obvious why the number would increase on his knees and elbows- but the number of "incidents" is also going up on his face.
I didn't take this picture so I'm not 100% sure but I think that it is supposed to be showing his dirty face and the strawberry on his cheek from biffing it on the sidewalk. He's finally drinking milk, but only two percent-he still gags on whole milk and he is as handsome as ever- although Alex thinks he's going through a "not so cute phase."
Alex is doing good. He was trying to go "REALLY" fast at a fire that he went to fight and got out to fight the fire withOUT his shoes on and got a big ol' gash in the bottom of his foot-ouch. Now everyone at the station calls him Fred Flintstone-guess that's better than Diamond.
We were just told that we will be able to qualify for a loan so we are hopping that we will be in a house by April 16th. Who knows if that will actually happen though- but we're praying.

Found my camera

I don't have a lot of time to write but I wanted to put this movie that I took today up because I haven't put up any movies in such a long time. It's nothing fancy just us hanging out outside.

Really Sad

With our credit card points we decided to get a portable DVD player. alex only gets to watch G rated movies and a few select PG-that really isn't very many movies and we love to watch movies. So after alex goes to bed we watch movies at our house BUT with only the subtitles and our enjoyment of movies was going WAY down; we thought that the little player would be a nice way for us to get to enjoy movies because action movies and dramas just weren't meant to be silent. Last night we put alex to bed and then took our new toy into the bedroom to watch and this is where the sad part comes in- the little DVD player has a better picture than our TV. Now this is by no means an expensive high quality device; it's a run of the mill, 7 inch, cheapest one you can find type of thing. No wonder people don't like it when we invite them over to watch movies with us. The funniest thing is that we are sticking to our "We're not going to buy a new TV until this one breaks." But it seems that whenever you say that the item lasts FOREVER.

Sorry that there aren't more pictures or videos of alex. I put the camera and in a "safe" place while I recharged the batteries and I have yet to remember where that is. Well, bye for now I have to go and enjoy the 80 degree weather.

Steven Zahn

Alex hasn't yet, but he is going to put up a picture of David Hasselhoff in Drag- bet you all want to see that. So following his example I'm going to put up a picture of my all time favorite actor. I'm thinking about him because I just saw him in Bandidas and thought that he did a great job-just like he does in all of his movies. Consequently, I liked the movie even though I'm pretty sure Alex wasn't thinking of me when he rented it!

Piston Cup

I don't know how many of you have seen Cars, but if you have I have something that you should know so that you don't go through the same embarrassing situation that I went through. The "Piston Cup" is NOT a real event.....who knew. Well, I didn't and apparently down here I'm supposed to know things like that. I would go into more details but I'm still embarrassed that I don't know the difference between real life and a cartoon.

Happy Valentines Day

My sister requested this picture, or one like it, and it actually turned out to be a lot harder to take than I had thought that it would be. After taking a ton I thought that this one turned out the best so I hope that you like it Teda. Love to everyone, I hope you have a nice day.

No Sleeping...

I just can't go to sleep. I think that Alex should wake up and give me a massage- but not enough that I would wake him up though (especially because I know that if I did wake him up just to give me a massage it would not be a very pleasant or heart felt one-the opposite I'm sure). A couple of days ago Alex couldn't fall asleep and ended up staying up all night playing video games. My past time at night is to read but I have already read until my head started to hurt too much and I had to stop. The book that I was reading was about feng shui and it said that when you have dirty laundry in your room it does something to the chi (spelling questionable) causes the people in the bedroom to not be able to sleep- I guess it's right, but then again I think that there have only been about five days in my whole life where I haven't had dirty laundry in my room so does that in turn mean that I have never had a good nights rest? AND the worst thing about this whole situation is that it is only 10:30 at night-wow I'm living on the wild side.

note: Sorry. The disorganized, incoherent tone of this blog is a direct result of my lack of sleep over the last week. Sorry.

Cooking

Well, these pictures aren't from today, those pictures would involve: dirty snot rags, cups of juice, puffy eyes, movies, heating pads and most importantly Tylenol. Yes, we are sick and our days have involved other...goings-ons but for my more sensitive readers those will be left as unmentionables. alex has taken over the recliner has his little blanket on and is holding my wallet and his Lightning McQueen (both toys he specifically selected to hold) and we are watching Cars for most likely the first of many times today. Sleep has been little and far between for the last couple of days, but I have been told that the best thing to do in these types of circumstances is to think on happier times and what could be happier than Cinnamon Rolls.

We made these a couple of days ago and they turned out fabulous- we replaced the raisins and nuts with mini chocolate chips and I don't think that I'm ever going to make them the old way again-you should all try it.

We did have more clean up then we usually do, but it was worth it.

Well, have have to go because alex is upset that I'm no longer sitting at his feet on the floor in front of the recliner. Last night all I wanted was for him to let me put him down-I guess you have to be careful what you wish for.

Addison Forecast: Snowy

We went to play in the snow today. That's right we went out our front door and played in the snow. A couple of days ago we were going out in T- shirts and today the was defiantly not an option. The first movie is kind of long but cute and the second movie is the same. Okay they are both pretty boring but I think that you will still like them.

Having WHAT?

When we went to sharing time as a class we got in the primary room before the other classes so the Primary President started to ask my class what they learned in their class. This first little girl said "Joseph Smith" the second little boy said "Joseph Smith" and the next little boy said "having sex"-That is not what he actually said, but that is exactly what it sounded like. While the next little girl was saying "when Joseph Smith didn't get his leg cut off" the Primary President was looking at me with this astonished look on her face like she actually believed that topic was covered in my class. So while completely embarrassed and blushing I clarified and said "having snacks" and the little boy who said it goes "yeah, they were great" and the Primary President and I burst out laughing-but I was still embarrassed that she would think that it was a possibility.

Another Blog

I think that this is the third blog that I have written today, but I write more on the days that Alex is gone because I get lonely and this makes me feel like I connecting with people.

http://www.videoegg.com/video/cUOUuH

When I vacuum alex gets Lighting McQueen and follows me around (actually right in my vacuuming path) and goes back and forth just like I do. Sometimes (usually) I get annoyed but I still let him do it because he is learning how to clean, I hope. Today I decided that I would video it because even though I don't think that it is that funny you may because you aren't trying to finish the floor.

And then we have a video of him driving his car normally.

They made a cake for a baby shower that they are having today. You look at it and it makes you want to make a cake, too. OR you could click on this link and it will take you straight there.

My Big Helper

Even though I already put up a post today, I couldn't resist telling you about this because it was so funny.

We have had these Cheerios since we moved from Utah (I would buy new boxes when they were on sell here and they would be opened before we would go through all the old ones) so I decided that we would just through them away because the Texas air has not been kind to them and they are all shriveled and hard. I didn't want to use up trash space with them so I just set them by the garbage so that we would remember to take them out. alex decided that he wanted some so he was bringing me the box, but he was carrying the box upside down and they all fell out. This is a picture of him helping me pick them up and even though I think that it is good for him to help me I still had second thoughts about it when I was vacuuming up all the crumbs he ground into the carpet.

So, I told alex that after I took a shower we would put away the dishes and then I would take him on a ride in the wagon. When I got out of my shower I peeked into the living room and he was just playing so I took some more time to get dressed and do my hair and things like that. He finally started yelling for me so I came in to see what was up and he was in the wagon ready to go. I was in the process of telling him that before we could go he had to come and help me put the dishes away when I saw the dishes on the floor. I walked in the kitchen and I found that he had already done it for me. Here are the results, don't you all wish that you had a little helper like him?

The dishes are lined up around the corner of his table,

The dishwasher is completely empty except for one ladle which even I had trouble getting out because it was jammed in there so well.
And the bulk of his accomplishment landed in the only bottom cupboard that we have. You can't tell very well from the picture, but I think that every time that he tried to put something else on top of the pile some of the silverware (which I think that he put in first) fell out and he had to put it back in. I came to this conclusion because in between the plates and other things there are random pieces of silverware and nothing ended up on the floor-except of course for the things that didn't fit which ended up on the carpet in the living room. I had thought that if you kept the dishwasher closed that would be baby proofed enough but apparently I was wrong and now we have to go find a dishwasher-baby-proofer-thing because even though I love the help this was not the first chore that I was planning on assigning him.

Throwing alex.

http://www.videoegg.com/video/cUbQTP

If you listen to the television you can here and kind of see the Poop and Pee video. We haven't thrown alex since he was little and after I stopped recording Alex said, "Man, he has gotten heavy." What a good work out.

So, what is everyone doing for the super bowl?

One Hard Day

Man, today I had ONE hard day.
Daddy had to work TWO-day,
But I thought that alex would sleep for some of the THREE hours of church.
(Because we didn't sleep very much last night.)
But even though he can use oraljel FOUR times a day
and infants' pain reliever FIVE times,
for the SIX teeth that he has coming in, I forgot to bring either one.
So while the SEVEN 5 yr olds in my class were "not" poking each other,
I was dealing with alex's EIGHT (or more) very big tears.
And on the way home, listening to the NINE reasons my husband is going to hell,
I was able to think of at least TEN reasons why I'm grateful for my life.

You've have all probably had bad days like this at church, but I like to complain- it makes me feel better and truth be told today was actually pretty good. Even though he didn't sleep last night, because of his teeth I think, he actually sat through most of sacrament meeting. I had to take him out after he had a huge crap in his pants to change him. After I changed all of his clothes because they were covered in poop he didn't want to go back in, but that was only for the last 10 minuets of the meeting. In my class he sat in his chair for almost a whole five minuets and then played with his car in the back and then he went to nursery for a little while even though he isn't old enough. During sharing time he wanted me to hold him and he cried for almost the entire time but he was pretty quite as long as the kids didn't try to touch him. Searching the building after church today for Sister Lou Lu (that is her real name) so we could go home was the last straw; alex kept going to the door so we could leave but I had to find Sister Lou so I picked him up and he pushed away from me as hard as he could arching his back and screaming. Normally this type of behavior is NOT tolerated, but I think that sometimes it's justified and today I couldn't get mad at him for it. His acrobatic move made me drop my bag so that I could catch him and everything fell out and blocked the entire hall. What else could I do? I started to laugh, put alex down so he could go to the door and started to put everything back in my bag. A nice man bent down to help me and I thanked him and asked him if he had seen Sister Lou. Then he said, "I'm sure everybody would understand if you didn't come to church, is it really worth it?" Even though I had that same though go through my head about a hundred times the minuet before I said back without hesitating, "Yes it is, I really love to come and I think that it will be important to him." I meant every word; then alex came over deciding that I had left him by the door long enough and gave me a hug....more of a pick me up so I can go to sleep on your shoulder but the same basic concept. I picked him up and smiled at the man and he shook my hand and smiled back. Today I was really touched by how important going to church is for me. Even though it's really hard to get through-especially when Alex is gone- I would never even consider not going. I'm so grateful that I have the opportunity to take the sacrament and be with people who share my beliefs ever week. I know the Atonement is the MOST important part of the Gospel and if I will study it more I will learn more than I can now imagine, I know I will be able to be with my family FOREVER there is no end to it, what a wonderful blessing. I also know that If I stop going to church I will lose these things that are so important to me.

I wonder if that man knew what his question would make me realize? I'm so grateful I had such a bad day.

Sorry you'll have to copy and post it to the address ball.

First of all, my husbands has the best smile I have ever seen! Our daddy played with us tonight and we had a great time with him. I hope that you like this movie because it took like five and a half hours to load. There is a better description on the page so I hope that you like it.

Aquarium

Here are some movies that we took at the aquarium. The only one that has alex in it is the last one, but we liked the other ones too. The pictures are not loading so I'll put them up when I can. Hope that you like them all.
