Well.....

I'm writing today because alex did something amazing! I hope that this was not supposed to happen months ago and everyone will think that he is way "behind schedule" but today he said a prayer. Not literally, I put out on his little table his tater tots (pathetically all that I made for dinner), and said, "Okay time to say the prayer" and without being prompted, even before I folded my arms he folded his arms and bowed his head and didn't say anything. I said the prayer and even though his food was in arms length, and he usually sneaks bits during the prayer even if he is quiet, this time he stood still and kept his arms folded! At the end of the prayer he did his customary "aaaaaa" and then clapped. Alex and I were lavish with our praise and both so proud we clapped until even alex had enough (usually we stop before he does). He also kicked me out of the kitchen so that he could go poop in his little toilet by him self. We don't usually keep his toilet in the kitchen, but everyday after his bath he runs off naked and tries to poop in the corner of the kitchen so we thought we would try the toilet in there after bath time and it worked.

Okay....the mommy stories are over. I don't know when I'm going to be able to blog again. I love reading all of your blogs (even if they give me nightmares of being eaten by a cow), thank you for everything that you put up. Mom and Goose, thank you for coming to watch alex so we could go on our trip, we miss you so much. I'm hoping that Alex will write about our trip so that I don't have to but if he doesn't in the next couple of days I will- you should watch for it because Alex was able to knock over a toilet with his bare behind. Keary and Diana, the flowers are beautiful and they make our house look so nice, I love to look at them- thank you so much. Cathy, the album is such a wonderful idea. I'm working on it but I'm sorry to say that our page is going to look pretty much exactly like yours with different pictures, thank you for taking the time to do that. I miss you all, stay safe and enjoy conference!
Also, our camera is out of service for a while so you won't be able to see any cute pictures of alex sorry. Mom if you could email me those that you took that would be great. Thanks.

Bulimia and vacation

Before I tell you about my vacation I want to tell you a story about what alex did that is freaking me out. I'm afraid that he is going to become bulimic because of me. Yesterday I was trowing up in the toilet and alex came to check on me. He was in the middle of lunch and had brought some snacks in with him. After watching me for a couple of minuets he went out got some more food and came back in; he would take a bit and then spit it in the toilet. At the time it upset me so much that I was crying but since then everyone that I have told has thought that it was funny and said that I was crazy for thinking that it would make him bulimic, so I hope that they are right!

We went on vacation and even though we missed our Daddy a TON, we were glad that we had the chance to go.

I brought my camera on the vacation so I could take pictures of everybody but every time that I needed it I couldn't find it :( It was really sad, but there is nothing that I can do about it now I guess except beg Ciria to send us more picture of her girls since we weren't able to get any. I went to Utah for two days and they coincide with Aunt Shawn's and Zoe's birthdays so that was really fun. My aunt had no idea that we were going to be there for her surprise party. I think that my favorite thing that happened while we were there was when Zoe came up and said (while doing a cute little pose with a hip sticking out to one side and her arms held just so), "Is my princess hat straight?" We miss you guys so much!

This is alex's cousin.

This is Michael and alex in matching shirts. Kelsey has moved out and is living in her own house (I'm so jealous) so Michael came to spend the night one night and they had so much fun. They sat down stairs and played with their trucks and cars for hours and when we finally pulled them apart to go to bed they were both sad. First thing in the morning they went to go and find each other so that they could play again.

These are the Purple People. This is alex's new Easter suit. When we were buying it we put it on in the store to make sure that it fit. Of course we were all telling him how cute he was and oooing and ahhing. When we took off the vest to put it up he grabbed it and tried to put it back on again. When he is trying to put clothes on he holds the piece of clothing in both hands and puts it on like a scarf and then scrunches his shoulders up to hold it in place. At the store he then looked up at us so that we could again tell him how cute he was.

In April I'm going to take alex to the city Easter egg hunt for 5 and under. So that he will have a chance to get some eggs I'm teaching him how to find eggs and put them in his basket. When we got to my mothers house they had an Easter egg gun that would shoot Easter eggs. On the coffee table they also had a little basket full of Easter decorations. alex dumped everything out of the little basket and then started to put the eggs in it all without being prompted. I guess that he gets the idea.

When we got back to New Mexico it was my sisters birthday who we also threw a surprise party for. The is alex climbing under the table to get to Chantel-how he picked her out from all the legs I have no idea.

This is Chantel and alex and two of her friends who probably won't like this unflattering picture of them.

Here is when we went to fly the box kite with grandma. Even though we spent most of our time with grandma and she completely spoiled him alex still only will say Grandpa so that we can understand it.

While we were there every time that alex was ready for bed or for a nap he would go out to the car so that we would go for a drive. We would go out to the main road and then come back and he would be asleep. I wish that I would have figured this out the first day, but it worked well for the rest of the trip. And luckily now that we are home he doesn't want to drive when he is tried he settles for his bed.

We love you all and hope that we will be able to see you soon.

So excited

I'm obviously not as Christ like as I should be because I still have not been able to forgive this, actually, it's not so much that I can't forgive it as I can't believe that someone would actually let this happen without telling me. On Sunday I had to take out Sister Lou's trash because she asked me to. I had her watch alex while I took it out so it wouldn't take as long and then we all went to the car to go to church. While I was sitting in Sacrament meeting with alex on my lap he smelt like pee really strongly so I took him out to change his diaper. It didn't seem that full and when I got back in he smelt like pee again so I changed him again. He still smelt like pee for the whole day so I assumed that he had just had some leak onto his cloths and he hadn't drunk enough water or something and that was why it smelt so strong. When I get into the car I'm telling Sister Lou about it and she informs me that in fact it is not pee but her dog just got so excited that he "leaked" a little on alex because he was so excited to see him. I guess that is what I get for think it would be okay to leave alex with her while I ran out to the trash.

I couldn't get videoegg to work so here is a movie on youtube I hope that you can all watch it okay. It's alex giving his daddy kisses.

Oops

From reading the comments on the last post I gather that not everyone was informed that we are having a baby. Sorry about that; Alex isn't going to be happy with me but he said that he was going to call everyone on Wednesday night while I was out so I assumed that he had and it was okay to finally write my blog. He'll probably be calling you sometime in the near future then.

My 150th Blog...

Yep, this is my 150th blog and I have been waiting to write it for awhile but I had to wait because Alex didn't want to tell everyone yet. That was too hard though because it was the first thing that everybody would ask me when they talked to me and I couldn't lie and now everyone knows; so here is my story.

We didn't really have any idea when I was due because I wasn't back to normal yet, so at the first appointment my midwife said that we would do an ultrasound to find out how far along I was. So I go to the front to pay and set my next appointment. (Picture about six receptionists at computers and then a lobby full of other patients that are all within earshot.)

The woman that I was talking to had a voice that carried very well, this I noticed BEFORE this conversation took place while I was wating in the waiting room and could hear everything that she would say, so I'm not making it up.

She says, "She wants the first available appointment."

I say, "Okay."

"Does this Friday work for you?"

"Anytime after 10."

"We have one with Dr. ANDREW Shimer." (she emphasized the first name very obviously)

"That's fine."

"He's a man."

"That's fine."

"It's an inner vaginal ultrasound." (again emphasising)

"I understand and it's fine with me."

"That means he sticks it up your vagina."

With each passing comment she seemed to get louder, but that may have been my imagination, at this point I was speechless and I just looked at her. After a moment I very clearly said "That is fine."

She got offended and said, "Just making sure" and didn't say anything else. I didn't mean to offend her but I just didn't know how much further she was going to go.

Apparently there have been some problems in the past. I'm so glad that she avoided an embarrassing situation for me by taking the time to explain what would be happening to the entire office. I left receiving what I hope were encouraging smiles and pitying glances, and wishing that I could say the sarcastic things that I wanted to say to her. I'm not very far along, but they said the little blob was doing good and should come and play around October 10th.

Us

What is going on with us?

alex- he insists on tasting the chicken bullion cubes every time that he sees its container and every time I let him try he sticks his toung out and tries to get all the flavor off by clawing at it and then drinks like a gallon of water-how many times will it take until he remembers that he doesn't like it? Now that our adventures are undertaken with shorts and a short sleeves he is getting all kinds of cuts and bruises; it is obvious why the number would increase on his knees and elbows- but the number of "incidents" is also going up on his face.
I didn't take this picture so I'm not 100% sure but I think that it is supposed to be showing his dirty face and the strawberry on his cheek from biffing it on the sidewalk. He's finally drinking milk, but only two percent-he still gags on whole milk and he is as handsome as ever- although Alex thinks he's going through a "not so cute phase."
Alex is doing good. He was trying to go "REALLY" fast at a fire that he went to fight and got out to fight the fire withOUT his shoes on and got a big ol' gash in the bottom of his foot-ouch. Now everyone at the station calls him Fred Flintstone-guess that's better than Diamond.
We were just told that we will be able to qualify for a loan so we are hopping that we will be in a house by April 16th. Who knows if that will actually happen though- but we're praying.

Found my camera

I don't have a lot of time to write but I wanted to put this movie that I took today up because I haven't put up any movies in such a long time. It's nothing fancy just us hanging out outside.

Really Sad

With our credit card points we decided to get a portable DVD player. alex only gets to watch G rated movies and a few select PG-that really isn't very many movies and we love to watch movies. So after alex goes to bed we watch movies at our house BUT with only the subtitles and our enjoyment of movies was going WAY down; we thought that the little player would be a nice way for us to get to enjoy movies because action movies and dramas just weren't meant to be silent. Last night we put alex to bed and then took our new toy into the bedroom to watch and this is where the sad part comes in- the little DVD player has a better picture than our TV. Now this is by no means an expensive high quality device; it's a run of the mill, 7 inch, cheapest one you can find type of thing. No wonder people don't like it when we invite them over to watch movies with us. The funniest thing is that we are sticking to our "We're not going to buy a new TV until this one breaks." But it seems that whenever you say that the item lasts FOREVER.

Sorry that there aren't more pictures or videos of alex. I put the camera and in a "safe" place while I recharged the batteries and I have yet to remember where that is. Well, bye for now I have to go and enjoy the 80 degree weather.

Steven Zahn

Alex hasn't yet, but he is going to put up a picture of David Hasselhoff in Drag- bet you all want to see that. So following his example I'm going to put up a picture of my all time favorite actor. I'm thinking about him because I just saw him in Bandidas and thought that he did a great job-just like he does in all of his movies. Consequently, I liked the movie even though I'm pretty sure Alex wasn't thinking of me when he rented it!

Piston Cup

I don't know how many of you have seen Cars, but if you have I have something that you should know so that you don't go through the same embarrassing situation that I went through. The "Piston Cup" is NOT a real event.....who knew. Well, I didn't and apparently down here I'm supposed to know things like that. I would go into more details but I'm still embarrassed that I don't know the difference between real life and a cartoon.

Happy Valentines Day

My sister requested this picture, or one like it, and it actually turned out to be a lot harder to take than I had thought that it would be. After taking a ton I thought that this one turned out the best so I hope that you like it Teda. Love to everyone, I hope you have a nice day.

No Sleeping...

I just can't go to sleep. I think that Alex should wake up and give me a massage- but not enough that I would wake him up though (especially because I know that if I did wake him up just to give me a massage it would not be a very pleasant or heart felt one-the opposite I'm sure). A couple of days ago Alex couldn't fall asleep and ended up staying up all night playing video games. My past time at night is to read but I have already read until my head started to hurt too much and I had to stop. The book that I was reading was about feng shui and it said that when you have dirty laundry in your room it does something to the chi (spelling questionable) causes the people in the bedroom to not be able to sleep- I guess it's right, but then again I think that there have only been about five days in my whole life where I haven't had dirty laundry in my room so does that in turn mean that I have never had a good nights rest? AND the worst thing about this whole situation is that it is only 10:30 at night-wow I'm living on the wild side.

note: Sorry. The disorganized, incoherent tone of this blog is a direct result of my lack of sleep over the last week. Sorry.

Cooking

Well, these pictures aren't from today, those pictures would involve: dirty snot rags, cups of juice, puffy eyes, movies, heating pads and most importantly Tylenol. Yes, we are sick and our days have involved other...goings-ons but for my more sensitive readers those will be left as unmentionables. alex has taken over the recliner has his little blanket on and is holding my wallet and his Lightning McQueen (both toys he specifically selected to hold) and we are watching Cars for most likely the first of many times today. Sleep has been little and far between for the last couple of days, but I have been told that the best thing to do in these types of circumstances is to think on happier times and what could be happier than Cinnamon Rolls.

We made these a couple of days ago and they turned out fabulous- we replaced the raisins and nuts with mini chocolate chips and I don't think that I'm ever going to make them the old way again-you should all try it.

We did have more clean up then we usually do, but it was worth it.

Well, have have to go because alex is upset that I'm no longer sitting at his feet on the floor in front of the recliner. Last night all I wanted was for him to let me put him down-I guess you have to be careful what you wish for.

Wipe Out

We hope that you had as much fun watching the Super Bowl as we did, unless your righteous then we salute you for doing nothing. I put this up awhile ago but forgot to post it, I hope that you like it.

Addison Forecast: Snowy

We went to play in the snow today. That's right we went out our front door and played in the snow. A couple of days ago we were going out in T- shirts and today the was defiantly not an option. The first movie is kind of long but cute and the second movie is the same. Okay they are both pretty boring but I think that you will still like them.

Having WHAT?

When we went to sharing time as a class we got in the primary room before the other classes so the Primary President started to ask my class what they learned in their class. This first little girl said "Joseph Smith" the second little boy said "Joseph Smith" and the next little boy said "having sex"-That is not what he actually said, but that is exactly what it sounded like. While the next little girl was saying "when Joseph Smith didn't get his leg cut off" the Primary President was looking at me with this astonished look on her face like she actually believed that topic was covered in my class. So while completely embarrassed and blushing I clarified and said "having snacks" and the little boy who said it goes "yeah, they were great" and the Primary President and I burst out laughing-but I was still embarrassed that she would think that it was a possibility.

Another Blog

I think that this is the third blog that I have written today, but I write more on the days that Alex is gone because I get lonely and this makes me feel like I connecting with people.

http://www.videoegg.com/video/cUOUuH

When I vacuum alex gets Lighting McQueen and follows me around (actually right in my vacuuming path) and goes back and forth just like I do. Sometimes (usually) I get annoyed but I still let him do it because he is learning how to clean, I hope. Today I decided that I would video it because even though I don't think that it is that funny you may because you aren't trying to finish the floor.

And then we have a video of him driving his car normally.

Three Men in a Tub

If you want to see the cutest cake ever go to the link on the side of my page that says "Dad" (NOT "My Dad's Site") and look at the blog from today (January 27th). They made a cake for a baby shower that they are having today. You look at it and it makes you want to make a cake, too. OR you could click on this link and it will take you straight there.
